💭 One Thing We’re Thinking About

Productivity and energy levels🔋🪫

On some level, most of us are on board with the fact that we can’t expect the same output from ourselves every single day — that would be ridiculous. And yet… we live in a world that makes it very hard not to measure yourself by your daily productivity.

The amount of energy we have to be productive every day changes. Anyone who has tried cycle-syncing know this well. But even if you don’t have a cycle to sync with, making sure your expectations for the day match the reality of the energy you woke up with can shift your whole perception of what is “normal” for you.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Avoid connecting your output to your value. Easier said than done, but keep chipping away at this… it’s life long work 🗺️

  2. Give yourself High, Medium, and Low energy days and adjust your expectations accordingly.

  3. SLOW DOWN — you’re probably doing too much and going too fast. Calibrating to a slower pace will feel unnatural if you’re in the polarity cycle of hyper productivity and burnout. Learning how to slow down and expect less will take time but support you long term (see point no. 1)

  4. Be wary of the optimizers, biohackers, and anyone trying to get maximum output from a human being — that’s systemic power structures wrapped in a shiny package 😵‍💫
