💭 ONE THING WE’RE THINKING ABOUT

About a year ago I started saying, “Holy sh*t, I’m uncomfortable!” whenever I noticed myself procrastinating.

I still do it sometimes, and it’s become easier to notice myself in that familiar freeze.

Did you know that? About the freeze response? A lot of people don’t know that. They think that procrastination is a willful decision to be lazy, but I’ve rarely felt like I had a choice in the matter. I used to joke that I don’t know where the trauma ends and the ADHD begins, but it turns out that the walk between those two is a lot closer than most people realize.

This week on the blog, Anna shares the 3 tactics she uses to break through the procrastination loop.

👀 ONE THING WE’RE OBSESSED WITH

Call them archetypes or alter-egos, there’s no doubting that Character Invention is a great way to embody the traits you’re running low on.

😒 Having a hard time finding the motivation to go for a walk? Put on your cutest outfit, grab a playlist, and take a Hot Girl Walk — don’t forget your shades for when the paparazzi inevitably find you.

😞 Feeling low on confidence? Embody some main character energy by stepping into an alternate version of yourself like Beyonce’s Sasha Fierce.

😫 Sick of your mundane chores? Light some candles, play some tavern music, and step into a bar maid version of yourself who scrubs the dishes every night to earn her keep.

The next time you’re in a situation that you’d rather not be in, step into character and see what happens when you approach the moment with a new perspective 😎

Did you know we host body-doubling sessions all week?

Body-doubling = doing tasks independently in the presence of others (in our case, on Zoom) = productivity magic

If you have yet to use your first free session, come see what the hype is all about 😌 (Use code FOCUS at registration)
