The Liminal Space Between Dreaming and Doing!!!!
Your ideas need you to get over yourself

Several years ago I looked at my life and thought “Maybe I’m just an ideas person.”
(Translation: What if I’m just an idiot fuck up who will never amount to anything because I never do what I say I’m gonna do?)
Me wondering if this is my peak life achievement
Every morning, I commuted to my Boring Desk Job™ while my brain would be reeling with ideas I could. not. wait. to try when I got home. but every night, when I got home I would watch TV instead. Classic.
Why did it feel so hard to just do it?
It took MANY years of ups and downs, therapy, ~doing the work~ and getting an ADHD diagnosis, to realize, oh — this has never been as simple as just doing it.
Because there is a tender flesh, a liminal space (if you will) where your dreaming has to become doing, and your beautiful idea meets the cruel potential of unmet expectations. What if it doesn’t work? What if I fuck my life up? Who am I to believe I could be successful with this thing? And it’s in that liminal space that everything starts looking upside down and you really start to question and judge yourself… or you could just abandon the idea and start fantasizing about a new one 🤔
I have found myself in this loop constantly throughout my life. MJ and I have written about this a lot over the last few years, because we both really struggle with it. We call it the Graveyard of Abandoned Ideas.
Taking action, having the audacity to believe in yourself, and actually giving a damn about your ideas turns out to be unusually complicated. But to be honest, the worst part has been discovering how much of this pain is self inflicted, like those birds that stay in their cages even thought the door is actually wide open.
I had to get to a point where I was sick of my bullsh*t. I was sick of running into people who would follow up on the idea I was working on the last time I saw them, but my ass had moved on to something else. She’s an idea person folks. Zero follow through.
If this sounds familiar, MJ and I just made a 2-hour audio class about this exact situation.
If you like our podcast style, it’s just like that, but it’s both of us, unmasked and yapping about Perfectionism… like the 10 sneaky ways we see it in ourselves, the 3 mindset shifts that really challenged it, and the 5 strategies we use every day to keep it moving in spite of the little gremlins inside of us trying to convince us that we’re not good enough.
We priced it at $33 because, to be honest, the coaching industry is pretty inaccessible for most people, and neither of us wanted to participate in that. We’ve bought SO MANY of the $222 video courses that we never finished, 1) bc attention span and 2) they usually feel clunky and hard to get through. So we said f*ck that. We LOVED making our 10 Life Hacks episode, so we channeled that energy into a 2 hour audio class that’s all hosted in a Notion page, so you can listen to it while you go about your life, and we’ve got timestamps so you can go back and dig into the parts you need to hear again. Also, there’s a whole section full of memes, because you know we are about that life.
Ironically, this is the thing we’re most proud of, put together in 2 weeks (which is literally unheard of for us) and were the least perfectionist about.
So there you have it — proof that The Perfectionists Guide to Taking Action on Your Creative Ideas actually works, because it’s out there and it’s really f*cking good.
We hope you love it, we hope it inspires you to actually do one of those brilliant things you want to try, and when you do, DM us and tell us and we’ll gas you up, because that’s pretty cool of you to believe in yourself.
