💭 One Thing We’re Thinking About

How environments affect how we focus 👀

The role of environments often gets overlooked when it comes to doing good work. If you work in an open office environment, it might be great for collaboration and chit-chat, but deep focused work? Good luck.

Even down to the aesthetics — if you’re in windowless room or sitting amongst a paper piles and knick-knacks, this can also affect how much you can relax and settle in.

There’s a very good reason why there’s a whole step in our Flow State Formula dedicated creating the best environment for focus — the vibes just matter.

This is the basis of the article that’s got us thinking this week: how to mold your surroundings to support creativity, flexibility, focus, and comfort.

Take a look around your current environment — is it doing for you what you want it to do for you? What changes might you make?

Now that it’s summer and your brain’s trying to take a vacation, now is a good time to plan for priorities only 😎

That’s why we made Priority Planner: an interactive Notion tool to help you get real with yourself about what’s possible this week.

Priority Planner is perfect for you if:

🤓 You want to visualize and plan your days and weeks more realistically

🤪 Rigid schedules haven’t worked for you, and you need a flexible tool to easily shuffle sh*t around when things don’t go according to plan

😅 You’re a perfectionist who tends to overestimate the urgency/importance of things… and your plate is always overflowing

👀 One Thing We’re Obsessed With

This outline of a day in the life of the luxury designer Brunello Cucinelli 🗓️

While most of us aren’t waking up at 6am in a countryside home to revel in the silence of nature, there are a few really amazing takeaways that actually are accessible to the gen-pop:

  • Walks, breaks, and slowness are a daily expectation (!!)

  • Dedicated morning and afternoon work blocks with no meetings or interruptions. We love how the morning one is for creative flow and the afternoon one is shorter and admin-focused.

  • Community and intellectual growth are also built in — refilling the ol’ cup and we’re here for it

🎧 One Thing We’re Listening To

If you ever zoned out watching TV during a sick day in elementary school, you’re gonna like this 3-part podcast series from Shameless: Daytime TV that Raised Us

⚖️ Judge Judy
